भारत आज कूटनीतिक मंच पर एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल करने जा रहा है। नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में भारत-अरब विदेश मंत्रियों की दूसरी बैठक (India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting) आयोजित हो रही है। यह बैठक खास इसलिए मानी जा रही है क्योंकि लगभग 10 वर्षों बाद भारत और अरब लीग के देश इस उच्च स्तर पर फिर से एक साथ बैठकर रणनीतिक साझेदारी पर व्यापक चर्चा कर रहे हैं।

इससे पहले भारत-अरब विदेश मंत्रियों की पहली बैठक वर्ष 2016 में बहरीन में हुई थी। भारत में इस सम्मेलन का आयोजन पहली बार किया जा रहा है। इस बैठक में पश्चिम एशिया और उत्तरी अफ्रीका के 22 अरब देशों के प्रतिनिधि हिस्सा ले रहे हैं। भारत और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) इस बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता कर रहे हैं, जो दोनों पक्षों के बीच बढ़ते भरोसे और सहयोग को दर्शाता है।

बैठक की औपचारिक शुरुआत शनिवार (31 जनवरी 2026) की शाम 4 बजे होगी। इससे पहले विदेशी प्रतिनिधि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात भी करेंगे। India-Arab FMM को भारत और अरब देशों के बीच सबसे उच्च स्तरीय संस्थागत संवाद मंच माना जाता है। भारत और अरब लीग के बीच औपचारिक संवाद की शुरुआत वर्ष 2002 में एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) के जरिए हुई थी, जिसके बाद 2008 में अरब-इंडिया को-ऑपरेशन फोरम की स्थापना की गई।

भारत अरब लीग में एक ऑब्जर्वर देश के रूप में शामिल है, जिसमें कुल 22 सदस्य देश आते हैं। ऐसे में यह बैठक दोनों पक्षों के रिश्तों को नई दिशा देने का अहम अवसर बन रही है। सम्मेलन में अरब दुनिया के कई प्रमुख देशों की मजबूत भागीदारी देखने को मिल रही है। फिलिस्तीन, कोमोरोस, सूडान, सोमालिया, लीबिया और ओमान सहित छह देशों के विदेश मंत्री स्वयं दिल्ली पहुँचकर बैठक में भाग ले रहे हैं।

वहीं मिस्र, यमन, कतर, UAE और सऊदी अरब की ओर से उप-विदेश मंत्री या राज्य मंत्री स्तर के प्रतिनिधि शामिल हो रहे हैं। इसके अलावा जिबूती, अल्जीरिया, जॉर्डन, कुवैत, बहरीन, लेबनान, सीरिया, मॉरिटानिया और इराक जैसे देशों से वरिष्ठ अधिकारी आधिकारिक प्रतिनिधिमंडलों के रूप में हिस्सा ले रहे हैं। इतनी व्यापक भागीदारी इस मंच की बढ़ती अहमियत को रेखांकित करती है।

पहली बैठक में भारत और अरब देशों के बीच सहयोग के पाँच प्रमुख क्षेत्र—अर्थव्यवस्था, ऊर्जा, शिक्षा, मीडिया और संस्कृति—तय किए गए थे। दूसरी बैठक में इन सभी क्षेत्रों में सहयोग को और गहरा करने पर जोर दिया जाएगा। खासतौर पर व्यापार, निवेश, ऊर्जा क्षेत्र और क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा जैसे मुद्दे आज की चर्चाओं के केंद्र में रहने की संभावना है।
